Adventure Stir Crazy, so I am growing my beard
Man-o-man, I feel like we (or at least me, Jake) are/am getting a little stir crazy in old Boulder, CO. For one, it’s been about 2 months since our last big trip (Disney) and while we have done little jaunts to-and-fro, we haven’t had a proper adventure in some time. We haven’t gotten outside to climb, which we generally do in the afternoons…or sail…which we generally do in the afternoons. All because daily afternoon rain/thunder storms have been plaguing the countryside for the past few months.
We had made plans to get out on the water this morning and thought how nice a morning sail before work on a Friday would be. But there was 0 wind…0mph, that never happens in Colorado!! It would be very nice to get outside and climb tomorrow maybe throw ourselves at some hard routes in Boulder Canyon…but this afternoon it will rain…and rain all night which will leave the rocks/cracks/trails…wet-wet-wet.
So today I decided after work that we will go see a movie “How to Train Your Dragon 2.” We’ve been planning to see this for some time but we really don’t seem to keep up-to-date on what’s in theaters. Without TV, things like new movies are impossible to follow. Following the movie will be a trip to our local Costco (always a good time) and then I will try to convince the wife that we should make taco’s for dinner…again…It seems that I can never get enough taco’s these days and my wife makes the best ones. (update – we had stuffed peppers and corn on the cobb…all on the grill – super delicious side note)
Weekend adventures will be replaced by yet another grueling gym training session and my only hope is that I can finally unlock the crux on my new project..’the new white tape 5.13 on the grey wall’….that sentence sounds more exciting then the process of doing it. On the plus side, it’s much easier to stay/and get strong by working out in a gym when you have to have a full time job anyway. And we are going to ride to and fro the gym, to add a little extra “working out” to our work out.
So, what will I be doing in the mean time? I will be growing my beard for an art project titled “The Beard Project” look out for updates in the weeks to come.
