Day 6: EUROPE

August 13, 2011
August 13, 2011

When the moon hits your eye like a pizza pie, that’s armore…

capreseOn day 6, we traveled to the continent of Europe, although we have yet to travel to this distant land in person. We have enjoyed many types of cuisine Europe has to offer over the years. We focused, primarily, on the country of Italia (or Italy). Our meal consisted of a lovely caprese salad (with home-grown basil and tomatoes from our garden), handmade cheese ravioli with a light maranara glaze, fresh-baked french bread, Blood-orange Italian soda and Chocolate Gelato for desert. “Molto Delizioso”

Day 5: NORTH AMERICA

August 11, 2011
August 11, 2011

To quote a very patriotic movie, brought to you by the makers of South Park; “AMERICA, F… YEAH!” For the North American continent, we have chosen the land of the free, the home of the brave, the good ol’U.S. of A.’
nAmerica
We dined on the classic chili cheese dog, washed it down with a classic Coca-Cola (from a glass bottle none-the less) followed with a the only desert that is going to make it though a nuclear apocalypse and possibly last longer the the cockroach; the one..the only Twinkie!!!! God Bless America with it’s quick to prepare meals and high calorie count. I have got to say, day 5 was a great day.

Day 4: SOUTH AMERICA

August 10, 2011
August 10, 2011

Today we take a trip down to the ‘other’ America, which is due south of “our” America also known as South America. We are excited to say that we put a lot of effort into this one. We made homemade Chilean Dobladitas (which is basically like homemade rolls) and Pork Cutlets Empanizado with Mango-Rum Chutney. This meal took us over 2.5 hours to create from start to end, and it was probably one of the most delectable that we have had. Pictures don’t do this one justice.  I’ll definitely make this again.

Well our third continent has come and gone. We visited Africa, where the Lion King plays in teh tall desert grass. It was mighty good eatin’

Day 2: AUSTRALIA

August 8, 2011
August 8, 2011

For nearly a decade, Sweeney Todd sliced and diced his way to culinary fame (and serial killer status) by turning his unsuspecting clientele into delectable meat pies. With this as our inspiration, we now travel ‘down under’ for our own version of Sweeney Todds World Famous Pies. This meat pie could be consired the national food for those crazy beer swindling Aussies and through flavor “country,” we join them in their outback adventures!!!

Day 1 [around the world]: ASIA

August 7, 2011
August 7, 2011

Today is the first day of our “Around the World” cuisine exploration. For our first journey, we travelled to Asia…more specifically Japan. Our meal consisted of some yummy saki, seaweed salad, an assortment of sushi (from spicy tuna to swordfish), ginger with mixed greens and asian noodles with sessame sweetened chicken. It was quite a feast!
